World travel educates and inspires young people like no other experience. Ashco Group believes that assisting even one young person in their pursuit to wonder about the world during high school or college can have profound effects to their learning curve in the classroom. It is for this reason that Ashco's TouchTheWorld project was created in 2000.
TCU students or Robert E. Lee High School students (Tyler, Texas) experiencing financial hardship can send need based requests to Ashco Group for consideration of grants from $500 to $1,000 ($3,000 total granted per year from the program). The student must exhibit a proven track record of entrepreneurial, leadership, discipline, community service activities and has set extremely high goals in life. While on the trip, the student must keep a daily journal of their experiences along with other requirements designed to make the grant recipient go "above and beyond" the traditional study abroad program.
At Ashco Group, we hold firm that the best learning environment is not a traditional classroom. Get out. Touch The World... and let it touch YOU.
